We also include dates and traditional items to ensure that even in a makeshift shelter or a village hit by disaster, the spirit of Ramadan is preserved with a proper Iftar. Our team works double shifts during the weeks leading up to the moon sighting, trekking into the heart of the village areas to hand-deliver these packages to the doorsteps of the needy. For many families who are still recovering from the loss of their crops and livestock to the floods, these food packs are the only way they can observe the fast without the crushing weight of hunger.
